What we collect

You can read the symptom pages and use the free check without an account. We do not set advertising or tracking cookies.

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. To limit free checks we keep a one-way, salted hash of your IP address for one day.

Sign-in

If you sign in, we store your email address, the language you used and the date your account was created. Sign-in uses a one-time code sent by email, and we keep a session cookie that only identifies you to Pet Well Check. It is not used for advertising.

Symptom checks, photos and pet profiles

When you run a check, what you describe about your pet (and its age, weight and saved health notes, if you use a pet profile) is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to create the result. Anthropic processes it on our behalf and does not use it to train its models.

If you are signed in, the check, its result and any deep analysis are saved to your account, encrypted before they are stored. Checks made without an account are not stored by us.

A photo you add to a deep analysis is sent to Anthropic only to write that analysis. We do not store photos.

Pet profiles (name, species, birth date, weight and health notes) are stored encrypted and used only for your own checks.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers and whether your plan is active. We never see or store card numbers.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data is kept until you delete it. From your account page you can delete a single check or pet, download all your data, or delete your account and everything in it. Deletion is immediate, and any subscription is cancelled.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, for example under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, Brazil’s LGPD or Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information, you can ask what data we hold about you, ask for a copy, or ask us to correct or delete it. Write to hello@petwellcheck.com. Pet Well Check is not intended for children under 13 (under 16 in the European Union).
